Is anyone using one of these? Can you tell me if your previously purchased plugins (Native Instruments for example) were easily cross-graded to be used on a Receptor? Gotta be sure it's worth the bones so I don't have to purchase a second registration for the VSTs in the Receptor....

Can earphones replace studio monoters?

hey bro :)

I googled this but didn't get any help. I am curious how smart it is to produce in earphones? What problems does it create? What artists do you know produce intirely with earphones? I have had my m-audio IE-20 for like a couple years now (250$ normal price) and I like the way they sound but they are not so good with showing me how bass is going to sound on speakers. Basically I am curious whether It would be wise to move forward using my earphones instead of my monoters. I like this idea cause it is so much work to get a nice acoustic studio.

Thanks
L

mulitband compression in the masterings stage

-When I listen to some of my favorite tracks it sounds like they are super compressed with a mulitband compresser and that is how the bass and mids are so huge and clear maybe? What do you think would be a healthy level to compress a track with a mulitband compressor in the mastering stage? I am reluctant to compress more than 5db because I like the idea of not altering things to much from the mixdown stage but I haven't been able to figure out how these tracks I hear are so warm...???

Thanks

er... china?

I checked the stats page for my music website ( http://www.themoodchannel.com ) and the top referrers are the following two sites:

http://202.108.23.172/index.html

http://music.soso.com/

these sites collectively brought me a thousand hits... mostly for mp3s. did I mention that this is for the period of one *week*?

does anyone know what is going on with this? anyone else with similar phenomenon?

My latest chaos.
Not sure what to think about this piece myself. Stayed up all night. Finished & mixed right in a row. Who knows how this will sound to me in the am. I used a synth horn patch in this. I hate horn patches. Smile I'm still not sure why i did. My head was in a weird space with this one. I was sick of having this rhoads and drum part sitting on my drive unfinished. Now i can move on to the next.

Stuff i used.

Drum kit

-I hear it may be a good idea to try and get your mixdown sounding so good that you don't need any mastering done. Is it a good idea to eq your entire mixdown? or do you really want to just eq the individual sounds? Cause it seems no matter what I do I can't get my mixdown to sound as warm as some of my favorite tracks. I don't understand how they get the mids and everything so warm and clear and upfront but have it be so clear with the highs at the same time? do they turn down the high hats and higher frequency sounds and boost the bass/lower mids/and upper highs on the eq of the entire mixdown maybe?

Is it wise to have all your tracks at about the same level pre-master?

Hey :)

Is it wise to have all your tracks the same level before mastering and then maybe tone down the highs during mastering so your mids pop out a little more? I am comparing my frequency curve post-master to my favorite tracks and I basically just need to tone down everything above around 4K. I am aware that compression and limiting may change the "percieved" volume of tracks when comparing their visual levels to other in a track but I think I may learn a lot from people's answers.

Thanks,
Luke

For Sale: PowerMac G5, 2 TC|PowerCore DSP cards

Hello, all ...

I am selling the following (i've upgraded):

dual 2.7ghz Power Mac G5
2 TC|PowerCore DSP cards installed (original PowerCore PCI and PowerCore Element)
550G disk
2G RAM
keyboard / mouse
Mac OSX Tiger

No, it doesn't come with additional music software ("i've upgraded" kind of implies "i'm still using the software I purchased"), but it's been a fine music production machine for me. I'm asking $1000 or best offer, though I will sell the TC|PowerCore DSP cards separately (I've moved to the TC|PowerCore Firewire) for $250 for the pair. I'm in the bay area, and this thing is heavy, so you'll have to come to my place to see it go / pick it up.

If anyone is interested, let me know, k?

Regards,

John

Reason 4 vs. other programs

I get SLAMMED all the time by my brother who uses Cubase with VST plugins, for using Reason to write and produce... he says it's not professional, you can't get a perfect sound out of it... that the drums and bass are shit.... you can't mix correctly in it... I'm sick of that shit.

I've been using Reason to produce for 3 years now and I could blame my own production technique for the bad sound than the program. I don't believe there is any method or program that will automatically give you a professional sound.

Here is some music that I've composed and mixed in Reason and then mastered in Logic... www.virb.com/happymurdermusic

Comments on the sound and creative quality are appreciated!

I've been connecting my Yamaha S08 to my PC through a MIdisport 2x2, more out of habit than anything else. Are there any advantages to using the built-in USB MIDI port on the keyboard, assuming I'm not hooking up any other MIDI devices just now? I've got something of a "take the extra thing out of the loop" feeling.

electronic : evolutionary?

"The stepping away from traditional instruments - the unfolding of consciousness into electronic realms - is the disencumbering of spirit from matter. It is a stage of evolution towards complete freedom from object-density, wherein the human travels with only her voice, calling forth a mysterious orchestration with which to play and improvise at any moment, as she ventures into the novel and the etheric. In the future, our individual nature-as-multiplicity (self-orchestra) will be expressed in some form, of which electronic music is but a foreshadowing."

I collaborate with other artists and we are always sending projects back and forth over the internet. I have been using sendspace.com to handle compressed project folders and audio mixdowns, but some of my projects are too big for the 300 mb. limit, and I have needed to upload multiple compressed files to get the project through. Can anyone recommend another solution with a higher limit that does not cost money. FTP is kind of a pain for me, as I don't fully comprehend the process.
Or maybe I should by a more expensive Mac?
Or Maybe I should take a Linux or Windows root….
What do you all think?

As I'm finishing up my projects I'm looking more and more into the marketing aspect and it occurs to me-the whole industry as a network is screwed-but I'm curious-obviously where we all buy also answer the question where we all should sell? Aside from Itunes-where do people here BUY music they enjoy?

I was recently asked how to divide an audio signal into freq band's without causing phase problems. So i made a little signal flow chart. Some of you might find this useful. Great for creating frequency dependent FX & mastering.

So i am looking to send some projects that i am doing in cubase sx3 to a producer who uses logic. I have been advised to explore using OMF formats which can be read on both DAWs (and sonar and a couple others). Do any of yall know about OMFs? What data is retained? just audio and midi clip positioning, or automation data and plug ins also?

Can anyone help me? I also have a copy of logic, if that would help any.

Thanks muchly.

top notch sequencer/sampler for mac?

I am seeking mac software that

1) comes with lots of top quality percussion samples for all musical styles
2) allows me to import my own sounds
3) lets me step-sequence all these sounds into complete drum tracks (start of song to end of song)

I'm impressed by the sounds that come with Battery but, being new to midi, I'm confused about how to arrange its sounds into drum lines. I assume I must pattern midi triggers in some other program, and then link each trigger to a sound in Battery - is this correct?

For a mac, can someone please recommend either a program that covers all 3 points above, or a great step-sequencer to use in conjunction with Battery?

Thanks!
-noob

i have noticed in the past that my bass and kick are a little loud in my mix... i guess i am just wondering, when you do a frequency analyzation of your track pre-master, do you go for a the whole track hitting about the same across the board, are you wanting the bass frequencies higher at all?

i make mostly psychedelic trance music, if this is necessary info...
KTgranulator
Livecut

This started out a collaborative music/mix project. This consists of 3 artists including myself (aka - 3am, Jazzyspoon,Rhythm In Mind). Typically our work doesn't include any vocal additions but 3am (Justin) spilled some lyrics out. Once the music was created & the tracks were passed around as usual method. Jazzy laid down the main vocals (with Strep Throat ) I did the chorus. I got Sina to add some great takes as well.
Theres a reason why we are instrumental artists. People shouldn't hear what comes out of my mouth for the most part :) so keep that in mind. I had a lot of fun with this. Started it last night around 12am finished 7am. I still have an alt acoustic drum mix to create. Enjoy.
that I'm divided
I'm left the only one
The storms are coming the suns going down
I hope your roots are firm in the ground
all the glimmering light showing through
can't see the shadow cast behind you

I wonder aloud
what's behind the shroud
BEHIND thIS veil
of subjectivity

It's time I worn
weather the storm
to wander alone
INto the unknown

Its the only way
at the end of the day
to find the truth
was hidden away

(chorus)
I calculate
the time and date

Maestro Rhythm King MRK-2 (REX Loops)

Ok one more for you all. I inherited this great analog drum machine a few years ago. It's rhythm presets are some of the best retro drum sounds. For the best representation of this unit i have created REX loops. I have included all 18 rhythm presets plus "System running clock noise" sampled@32/48,000. The "System running clock noise" is the amplified output of the MRK-2 sitting at idle (no preset).
Enjoy.
(Live users don't forget to "Slice to New midi track". They are great to use with Drum Rack.)
I hate to mention this shameless plug. My DAW laptop died on me :( any donations appreciated. If you use the samples for production work please click the paypal donation from the site link.

This is the TR-505 DeComposer.
What you have are 29 24bit/44,100 Samples of this beast. Every pad has been captured with pristine TC-Electronic A/D converters. It's knobs&toggles have been tweaked to generate some of my favorite sounds. I have also included “Noize” samples of the amp output abuse mod. All samples are unaltered. This is the DeComposer as is. Enjoy this circuit bent disaster.

I recently completed producing & mixing my 2nd track using Logic, & I guess I really had some stuff to express with this one, cause it clocks in at 11:05 in length, but I feel it is by far my strongest work to date, & I would really like to get some honest feedback on it, so if you feel so inclined, here is the link to download the MP3:

all I ask in return is that you offer some honest feedback, be it good, bad, or indifferent...just what you think of it.

thanks!!!

Hello and Questions

Hi all, I'm a for-fun musician (guitar, hand drums, bass) looking to start recording as a hobby and possbly a career move in the future (I'm a computer guy). I have picked up a couple of $10-15 mics to get started and have been recording using Audition 2.0 with the mic plugged directlly into my computer mic port. Although it's been fun to record my originals and play with myself (OMG, did I just say that?) I am looking to take it to the next level. I have a small amout of money available to invest in equipment (<$200). After perusing several websites I loceted this device:

http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHXENYX1204FX

The reviews seem extremelly positive and it is in my price range, have any of you had personal experience with this item? I like this item cause It comes with a USB 2.0 audio interface in addition to being a board and having effects. It can record 4 tracks at the same time which should be plenty for me to start and has phantom power for when I get around to purchasing a condenser mic.

Also what do you guys think about Audition? Should I be saving up for something else?

Could anyone recommend any websites/books/magizines to help me learn more about this art?

A couple other Cubase questions...

I am running cubase sx3 on a macbook pro.

Here are a few questions riddling my brain. Maybe yall can help me?

Is there an easier way (than this: www.youtube.com/watch )to sidechain effects in SX3?
I mean JeeZe! That's anoying. Even following the steps in this tutorial, I don't really get a sidechain. I don't have the "compadre" compressor used in the video, just the compressor bundled with cubase, maybe I am doing it wrong?

Why does the vb-1 produce so many high frequency clicks? Is there any way around this without having to make it sound "soft"?
Are ther 2 versions of the vb-1? I have heard rumors of a silver colored one that doesn't produce clicks.

Are all audio tracks monophonic? Which is to say, can they only play one audio clip at a time. Overlaping segmants are not combined.

Thanks for your help.

>Your friend,

I want to draw in automation for timestretching and "grain" length of some parts being played out of battery. How do I assign automation? I couldn't find these params in my sequencer's track.

I don't Need to tweek it with a knob in realtime, just draw in the manipulation in my DAW.

Hey all,

Another problem, whew!

I use a novation ReMOTE 25 LE USB midi keyboard controller, primarily with Cubase SX 3.

All well and good, but i get a pretty significant lag between hitting a note and hearing the sound from the VST plug in it's connected too (in Cubase). Makes it impossible to play anything live.

Bleh, Any suggestions?

My setup:
Box: Dell Dimension 8300 - 2.6 Gighz
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce FX 5200
Monitor: SyncMaster 941bw
Audio Card: SoundBlaster Live!

Something very different…The KARAS AMV by the Opposite of Faith featuring DJ Quest

What you are about to see is an evolution in film sound design far different from anything you‘ve heard before…

The Karas AMV

Anime Music Videos (AMV) are created by hobbyist who take a popular song and add it on top of existing Japanese Animation footage to give the Video a new and more exciting feel. The Karas AMV was created around the idea of taking found sources and samples from existing Japanese Animation titles and combining it with performances highly skilled musicians and Turntablist to recreate the film sound effect work creating a frenetic, hyper real approach to sound design. After the original sound track was removed, the music (Bass performance and Ableton sounds by J of The Opposite of Faith) was written and recorded into Ableton Live- every other voice, movement, moment and mood was created on Turntables and through Turntable mixing techniques (cutting, scratching, transforming) while performing to the video. The approach was expanded by having the Turntablist (DJ Quest and DJ Cplus) manipulating the Dave Smith Evolver and the Korg Kaoss Pad through the DJ mixers and MIDI control. Performances (Bass, Turntables) were record through the EMU 1616 into Ableton Live and warped, edited and combined there. The final mixdown was performed in Ableton Live and Mastered using Summit Audio Tube EQs.

This is the first in series of creative Music/Video/Art Projects by the Opposite of Faith-creativity without compromise…
More of 3am tracks can be found @ www.3amnoise.net/

On a side note still waiting for "Own Expense" to hit the stores. Distribution is taking it's time. But the whole album can be streamed start to finish @ www.rhythminmind.net/Music.html

Using Logic's ES-1 in Cubase?

Is there any way to use the es-1 (or any of the other logic bundles synths) from within cubase?

I would like to avoid a rewire, and I would also like to avoid having to bounce down to an audio file and importing it into cubase.

>Big Hugs,
your friend,

Okay electronic music producers here's the scoop:

We are using a Serge Modular Analog Sythesizer built in 1978, about eighty-something banana connectors, an Akai MPC2000XL, a Pioneer EFX-500, a Funk Logic RNC 1773, an Electrix Warpfactory, and a Lexicon PCM-80 through a twelve channel Mackie mixer.

Spiral Blaster proudly presents:

Trigger Happy (live analog mix)

I'm not really good at long, flowery, and well worded fanciful promotional e-mails that take the reader on a voyage of the soul, but right now I wish that I was. I feel like a moron, I mean, I don't even have a theme, it ought to have been about the magickal spirits from the realm of the fairies, there ought to be some good ways to adapt a costume to the theme, you know, some way to make a sexy costume that has furry leg warmers, arm warmers, and wings, yet says (cut and paste the appropriate theme) all over it. For me it has been about solving problems, technical problems, compositional problems, performance problems.. I mean, after we invented the instrument, we had to figure out how to play it. Sadly, the problem with problems is that unless Janis Joplin has them, they aren't very sexy.

So anyway, Spiral Blaster has got some more FREE music for you all, 100% original, 100% live electronics, and NO LAPTOP computers. This has taken all of our combined wits, pocket change, time, and emotional stability to create this music, and its yours for free either by downloading directly from our podcast page:

or by subscribing to our podcast on itunes:

Thank you,

Hey everybody, i am very interested in electronic music, and would like to make my own. unfortunately i have little background other than my love for music. i've taken piano lessons for about 5 or 6 years when i was younger, so i know some theory, and have taken a DJ lesson in previous years. i've never had the opportunity to actually use a production program, so before i spend 600 bucks on one i was wondering if there was something cheaper, but still pretty good for electronic music, perhaps something other than garage band. or, if someone has an older program that i could buy from them, that would be lovely.

after that, what do i do? i really want to get into this and have felt this way for several years now, but i'm just finally graduating highschool and havent had much time to put into this
what does it take to make and record electronic music? other than time, practice and creativity? about how long does it take before i can get my place established? although i guess it's just as fast as i move.... oh my.

any answers or advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much!
The Vinyl vs Digital Debate

An interesting thought reemerged from my mind after reading the last post on here on tribe. I know this topic can be a "heated" issue for a majority of DJs and what not, and from the producing stand point I'm a bit curious what all your takes might be on the idea.

Considering that a majority of electronic music recently has the ease of being produced on the computer, skipping the need to bounce to an external device, bouncing to disk, etc, etc. On top of the whole sample rate issue and etc. Would it be valid to say that vinyl "sounds" better than CD? Vinyl is essentially sample-rateless, but if you have already burnt a master CD and want it on vinyl, I'm assuming your record is simply going to have a recording of a 44.1k version of your song. At most, if you were to do a live bounce straight from your computer at 192k straight in a vinyl lathe, you'd still have a 192k version, at which point you might be better off burning an SACD (not sure if there are any decks that support that though).

So, in this digital age, would it still be fair to say that electronic music on vinyl sounds BETTER than on CD, or lossless formats on a laptop?

what up yalls -

has anyone had any experience with using native instruments' battery 3 as a loop sampler in a *live* context? the looping features are pretty dank for production, but i can't seem to find a way to load new kits or cells without killing the audio that's currently playing - obviously this would be pretty lame on stage. anyone know how to work around this?

Okay Electronic Music... What's next?

Okay Electronic Music... I know it was difficult to establish yourself in this world. I know that, kicking in screaming, you found that the best way to gain your foothold on this world was to subdivide into a multitude of label-able sounds and structures. Oh how we love your myriad structures and labels... oh how it causes us so much debate and excitement!

Now, though, you have gained that foothold, and the people of the world recognize you. You have found your way into the mainstream of all styles... you are heard in pop-radio and seen in television. You add intensity to our chase-scenes and you help sell our cars.

So, one thing bothers me....

You are young, Electronic Music, and your possibilities so great, so wide-open, so unlimited. Again, I understand why you chose to put yourself into these genres, I understand the purpose in your choice. But now that you have become a teenager and you have spent so much time defining yourself, don't you think its time to spread your wings and show people the possibilities that you hold inside? Don't you think its time to show people that you are the future?

I think now is your time, Electronic Music... I think you and many others know that you are ready... so let's do it... take my hand, we will do it together if you will let me. It is time to move beyond time and speed, to move beyond the expected and the routine. You know what i mean...? I know you do...

so, I realize your potential, yet still have no idea how big you will grow, how different you will become.

Will you show me? Will you bring us all into the next phase?

I sure hope so......

Alesis Fusion Anyone?

Ok I gues I was asleep for a few years while I was working for da man and completely missed this one coming out. Now It is going for $799 which seems like an incredible price if this thing is what they sell it as. In going through all the reviews I found one or two negative ones saying the build quality is poor and the software has issues. Since the msrp is like $2400 and they are going for one third of that now I `m starting to believe the poor reviews. But at the same time even if this thing works ok it does seem like a decent deal......Anyone have one? Thoughts compared to the Korg TR series which are also going for a good price these days. Any input is appreciated.

I just finished up the AVR-X open-source hybrid synth. Pretty cool project. Very educational if you are interested in learning about DSP processing, and digital control of analog circuits.

Subwoofer in the Studio

Hello producers,

I was wondering if anyone has experience for integrating a sub into their studio environment. I use Mackie 824 monitors and am considering getting an hrs120.

I produced bass heavy dance music and always am having trouble tweaking the bass just right. The studio space is approx. 12X18X8 and is fairly well treated acoustically with bass traps in all corners and auralex / fiberglass pads to the front sides and top of the mixing position.

Any feedback would be appreciated. My concerns are that the 400W hrs120 might be too strong, issues with standing waves, etc. I have also heard that it makes it too easy to tweak really low bass and thus makes mixes less translatable on other systems.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Folks,
we just released a debut album. OK, this is a fairly self promotional post, but it might be of interest nonetheless as it was all done on Logic.

It's a mix of electronic and arabian styles with some eastern european influences also. Just thinking it might be of interest to folks who like this kind of material, especially if you're into more the world / electronic sound, e.g. RealWorld, Afrocelts, etc.

There's four full tracks available to listen online.

http://www.myspace.com/nomadiqa
http://www.nomadiqa.com

Have a listen and see what you think.

Many thanks,
Music making software recommendations

Hi :-)
Can anyone tell me what you know to be the best software for making music?
I've played with Reason before, have heard Logic Express is good, and am curious about Ableton Live.
I dunno what Fruity, Cubase, GarageBand or any of that is about.

I want to compile stuff with pre-made sounds/drums etc and record my own. The option of using it for live performance is cool but not a priority.

I'm using a 3rd gen Mac with Leopard OS.

Which keyboard for me. Yamaha MO8??

Have looked in pages and pages of reviews and stuff and am no further forward. I am looking to buy a keyboard for about 1000 GBP. I have played pianos and organs for years and now want to get the keyboard for;
1) Music production / backing tracks
2) Gigging, part of a band mostly piano and electric piano.
3) Composing via computer.

Years ago I was very close to buying a SY77 Yamaha but it didn't tick all the boxes.
I think I would be most happy with 88 keys but if necessary will look at others. Somone suggested a Yamaha MO8 but he did work for yamaha so it wasn't unbiased!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hey Everyone!
I've never posted on here before so i hope i get to make some new music friends.

I am looking for infectious old school sounding funk dance tracks (not too clubby or dancy sounding) or fatboy slimish infectious tunes for a family comedy in the USA.

Face Family is a music consultancy who finds placements with music in TV/ Film/ Advertisements based in London and LA.
If you have anything that fits the above description please get in touch and i will check out your myspace page or you can send me links to check out on here.
You will get paid if your music is used, you will always maintain ownership of your music so you can use it for what ever else you like. Any deal we strike is non-exclusive. You do not have to pay to add your music to our roster ( i can't believe there are companies out there who pull such a scam and if you meet them RUN TO THE HILLS!)

Thanks!

Any advice would be appreciated. Yamaha, Kurzweil, M-audio? Can you get a weighted Synth that has great piano reproduction? Any gigging musicians that know about reliability? I really would like to have midi usb. Seems like everyone has an opinion on the boards and I'm lost and more confused than ever?

Thanks

Synth pioneer Joe Zawinul dies at 75.

Take a moment to pay your respects:

This guy got it long before many people were even aware of synthesizers.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070911/ap_on_re_eu/obit_zawinul_11;_ylt=An6kwdpB9JOfUwJZ0l4vTk30kPUI

"He is credited with bringing the electric piano and synthesizer into the jazz mainstream, but was frustrated by the lack of respect for electric keyboards and new technology among jazz purists.

"There is no difference between a Stradivarius or a beautiful synthesizer sound," Zawinul told Jazziz magazine earlier this year. "People make a big mistake in putting down electronic music. Yes, it's been misused and abused, but that's true of every music.

"There is nothing wrong with electronic music as long as you're putting some soul behind the technology." "

Just curious guys......until now ableton was the only software I was gonna spend a bunch on....but I just need more sounds across the whole range and well, even though I was trying to avoid it I`m thinking about coughing up the $400 for reason. So what do you guys think? Is reason worth it? Or any other ideas? I`m open to suggestions. I currently have the imposcar, absynth 3.0, reaktor 4, all running in Live 5. My music tastes go across the range too. I need more drums, synths, samples, etc.

Taking this topic out of the "Reason worth it?" thread...

Don commented

"I find it really stimulating to be just messing around in an app or with a plug and just stumble across something really cool and droney or screwed up and rythmic and just build from there.....the songwriting gets easy after that....the hard part can be just finding that impetus."

This is definitely one of the ways I use to stoke the fire when I have nothing particular in mind compositionally.

I'm interested in hearing examples of things you all have created that began with stumbling across an interesting patch or sample and just fooling with it and building on that.

Here's an excerpt of something I did in summer '06 while on vacation (remote part of Cape Breton) with a laptop, an Oxygen 8, and my Godin Fretless Nylon Multiac/Roland VG-88 guitar/processor combo. It started with a patch in the free softsynth plugin Crystal. (Second synth that appears in the tune. Guitar doesn't appear until about a minute in.)

A little money saved up...

I have a little money saved up for an analog synth. I'm going with either the Alesis A6 Andromeda or a Dave Smith Poly-Evolver. Anyone have any pursuasive arguments for/against either? Should I wait for the Prophet '08? Should I just get another damn workstation (V-Synth GT, Fantom, Korg M3 or a Triton, blahblah..) and just get a shitload of virtual synths to run on my Mac? (I'm still working off Korg Trinity Plus, Wavestation EX, JP8000 and JV1080 hardware - and Reason, Live, and DP on the 'puter). I'd really like to get back into analog programming, however, and I know both of these analog synths are supposed to be incredible. If anyone has any thoughts about this, I'd appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

I've had someone ask me to recommend a unit that will give another 8 channels to Pro Tools LE in addition to their 002. I use the Focusrite Octopre, which is pretty good. But I'm hoping to find some other units out there that people have experience with just to see what's out there.
Small plea for a school

I've been a student at CSU Monterey Bay for awhile, and have been very involved in their music department, and currently helping with some decisions to purchase a new console for the recording department. Our recording technology department has recently been growing, and we are hoping to offer better resources for students. We are trying to find a somewhat modern console, which has some sort of automation capabilities or ability to interface with computer DAWs (mainly ProTools) to replace our rather noisy and useless Mackie 32-8. We have been given a grant that offers us a flexibility between $20-25k at this point. We've been looking at a Euphonix CS2000, Neve VR, and Soundcraft DC. It is pretty hard to track down other options without prices firmly listed online, or people open to negotiation for a school.

I'm asking some of the tribe members who have are involved in the music industry and/or have connections to possibly help get us in touch with people who are currently selling their consoles. Feel free to get in touch with me through tribe or email either mikejuarez@gmail.com or, contact my instructor, Paul Contos at Paul_Contos@csumb.edu.
