anybody experienced with using this? I'm looking into getting the TI snow to use with my macbook. anyone have specific experience with...
using the plug-ins in the max/msp vst~ object?
using the plug-ins in digital performer?
using the device as a coreaudio device separate from the synth functions?
on paper it looks like the thing I want to buy next... as I've played with my friend's virus and I love the sounds... but I want to get some info on the usability.

Thu, October 16, 2008 - 4:49 PMI run the Virus as a plugin inside Logic and works very smoothly. You can browse, save, edit and load patches quickly. You can twist and twiddle knobs either on the GUI or on the synth itself. It doesn't eat much CPU, since the Virus does all the processing. As you can imagine, it sounds awesome. Oh, and the 'Atomizer' effect is really dope.
The only thing about is this: the plugin allows you to run the Virus on multiple channels simultaneously, so they give you a lot of headroom on each channel so that when they're all summed, you can avoid clipping and distortion. The problem is that the Virus will sound kind of quiet in relation to all the other tracks if your only using one channel. It's easy enough to get around though; I just add a gain booster to the Virus track.
Have fun! -

Thu, October 16, 2008 - 4:55 PMOh, and I haven't used it as my main audio interface, so I can't tell you about that, but I know it has 192 khz/24 bit Digital/Analog converters.
